New Tamashii Nations One Piece Luffy Figure Revealed

Tamashii Nations unveiled a new, unreleased figure of Luffy from One Piece as part of its Imagination Works line. The 1/9 scale figure is currently on display at Tamashii Nations Tokyo. The figure will officially release sometime in June 2022 and will cost ¥9,350 (about $80). [Thanks, Hobby Watch!] The Luffy figure will come with the character’s signature red vest, made with real cloth fabric. It also comes with a large, black-felt overcoat. Additionally, the figure features finer details such as Luffy’s chest scar, weavings in his straw hat, and even scuffings on his pants. Photos from the Tamashii Nations official website also indicate that it will come with two additional faceplates, as well as a string to sling the hat behind Luffy’s head. Imagination Works is a newer figure line from Bandai’s Tamashii Nations brand. The Imagination Works line focuses on bringing 2D figures into 3D and creating poseable figures without sacrificing appearance. Up until now, however, the brand only featured figures of Vegeta and Goku from the Dragon Ball series. This new figure of Monkey D. Luffy marks the brand’s first foray into another popular anime series. Tamashii Nations will begin selling the Imagination Works Luffy figure sometime in June 2022. It will cost ¥9,350 (about $80). There is no confirmed pre-order date.
