It is the day before E3 2017 begins, and Nicalis has officially announced the four games it will be showing off at the event. We already heard a bit about Blade Strangers, the fighting game featuring characters from Cave Story, Code of Princess, and Umihara Kawase, but now we also know more about The End is Nigh, Ittle Dew 2+, and Tiny Barbarian DX too.
Blade Strangers
We’ll start with Blade Strangers. This is a 2D fighting game from Studio Saizensen that so far has Cave Story’s Curly, Code of Princess’ Solange, Ali-Baba, and Master T. Drakkhen, and Umihara from Umihara Kawase as playable characters. There will be Mission, Versus, Training, and Online modes and it offers a four-button control scheme. Blade Strangers will be available on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Q4 2017.
The End is Nigh
In this post-apocalyptic game from Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel, a glob named Ash is attempting to make a friend. He’ll need to leap around a desolate landscape, collecting body parts to make his very own buddy. He can also collect game cartridges to gain access to mini-games and find tumors. The End is Nigh will come to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Q3 2017.
Ittle Dew 2+
Ittle Dew 2+ is an updated version of Ittle Dew, which was released in November 2016 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Ittle and Tippsie search an island for eight pieces of a raft so they can escape and get home. There will be more content available in this version of the game, which will appear on the Nintendo Switch in Q3 2017.
Tiny Barbarian DX
Starquail’s Tiny Barbarian DX, which originally appeared on the PC, is coming to the Nintendo Switch. In this 2D, pixelated game, players follow a Barbarian as he seeks revenge on the cult that kidnapped him and left him tied to a tree. Players go through four episodes, either alone or cooperatively with a friend, beating up any enemies in sight. Tiny Barbarian DX will come to the Nintendo Switch in Q3 2017.
