Square Enix shared the latest on the upcoming smartphone game NieR Reincarnation, including info on its upcoming closed beta test.

A girl wakes up on the cold stone floor. She finds herself in a vast space with giant structures.

Led by a mysterious creature that goes by “Mama,” the girl starts to walk on top of the paved stone.

In order to retrieve what she’s lost, and to atone for the sins.

Inside a “Cage” that was built by someone, somehow.

She’s tormented by the nightmares she sees every night.

She’s a kind and cheerful girl, but what could be the reason behind her choker and bandages?

A strange creature that calls itself “Mama.”

It appears to know something about the “Cage.”

Mama leads the girl.

Mama enjoys sceneries and likes to mess about with surrounding decorations and is a bit too free-spirited at times.

Dark Monster (CV: Motoyuki Kawahara)

A mysterious being that wanders the “Cage.”

It looks like a knight in armor, but it is also like a bug that can’t talk.

It appears to have some kind of objective.

As for the NieR Reincarnation closed beta test, it will start in Japan on July 29, 2020 at 1:00 pm JST. It will end on August 5, 2020 at 12:59 pm JST. Those of you interested can register at the Japanese official website until August 5, 2020 at 12:59 pm JST. A total of 20,000 players will be accepted into the closed beta test with 10,000 from iOS and 10,000 from Android. It will go into a lottery-based system if it goes over the 20,000 total in registrations.
