Nightshade Nintendo Switch Otome Game Will Have An English Language Option At Launch

Another otome game has been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch. D3 Publisher’s Nightshade will head to the console in Japan on December 20, 2018. This release is notable for two reasons. One is that it is getting a digital and physical launch, and the other is that the English language option has already been confirmed. A Traditional Chinese translation option will also be present. (Thanks, Japanese Nintendo!)

English versions of D3 Publisher Nintendo Switch otome visual novels are not uncommon. Many past releases that have been available in Japanese and English, like Destiny’s Princess: A War Story, A Love Story and The Men of Yoshiwara: Kikuya, have launched on the Japanese eShop with their English translations included. Nightshade first received an English translation when its PC port arrived in April 2017.

In Nightshade, players follow a young woman who is a daughter of a notable ninja. She is attempting to learn the trade as well. But this is not a peaceful time period, and the young woman will have to do her best to become a ninja while also surviving and perhaps finding love with Hattori Hanzo and Ishikawa Goemon.

Nightshade is immediately available on the PlayStation Vita in Japan and on the PC worldwide. A Japanese Nintendo Switch release will occur on December 20, 2018.
