Unfortunate news has arrived for Nintendo 3DS owners waiting for Treasurenauts, an action game where players head into 20 labyrinths alone or with a friend. Jools Watsham, of Atooi, has revealed the handheld version of the game has been canceled. In his July 19, 2018 Vlog, he revealed that development on the Nintendo 3DS version has stopped and it will only be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Treasurenauts was originally announced for the Nintendo 3DS back on October 3, 2013. On February 28, 2017, the Nintendo Switch version was announced. Watsham brings up the Nintendo 3DS version’s cancellation at the 5:50 mark in the video below. He notes that market is not good for independent developers on that system anymore, then says the Nintendo Switch version’s development is going well.

Here is a trailer showing what Treasurenauts looked like running on the Nintendo 3DS.
