Nintendo eShop File Size Not 2GB, But 2GB Would Be "Reasonable"

Recommended Videos

While originally planned for WiiWare, Team Meat canceled plans to release Super Meat Boy for Wii due to WiiWare file size restrictions. An interview with Team Meat from Nintendo Gamer says the 3DS’ eShop has a 2GB file size limit.

Team Meat took to Twitter to correct the story and wrote, "Original Quote on size restrictions: ‘…or if they do they are reasonable restrictions (40MB is horrible….2GB is reasonable).’" Team Meat does not know what the file size limit is for downloadable Nintendo 3DS games.

Nintendo recently said they will release retail games as eShop downloads, so the maximum file size has to be significantly larger than the WiiWare limit.
