Nintendo announced it will hold a first-party Direct ahead of the 2025 Tokyo Game Show, with the stream going over Switch and Switch 2 games on September 12, 2025. It will start at 6am PT/9am ET/3pm CET. It will be streamed on the Nintendo Today app, Twitch, and YouTube. We still don’t know about the actual Nintendo TGS 2025 booth plans, however.

This stream running ahead of TGS 2025 is going to be a longer Nintendo Direct than usual, which could suggest we’ll see more Switch and Switch 2 games. Typically, these run for between 20-40 minutes. This one will last for 60 minutes.

We’ve seen a handful of presentations lately, with two showcases happening in the last 90 days. At the end of July 2025, there was a Partner Showcase. That involved third-party games. At the beginning of August, there was the Indie World Showcase. Both of those were shorter than this and covered games for both consoles. A release date for Kirby Air Riders also came up in the dedicated Direct last month.

The next Nintendo Direct will be held at 6am PT/9am ET/3pm CET on September 12, 2025, and TGS 2025 will run between September 25-28, 2025.
