By Nintendo shared a chart of male (blue) and female (pink) users. While the Wii and Nintendo DS are evenly split between genders, the 3DS is skewed towards male users.
Nintendo plans to appeal to female users with a new color, a Misty Pink 3DS scheduled to come out on October 20 in Japan.
