Nintendo Increases Forecast Of Switch Sales To 16.7 Million Units By March 2018

Nintendo shared the latest financial results with an updated financial forecast and how many Switch consoles the company expects to sell by March 2018.

 

First, here’s a look at the full-year financial forecast modifications:

Based on the sales performance for the six months ended on September 30, 2017 and after, Nintendo has modified its financial forecast in consideration of the revised sales prospects as well as the revised assume exchange rate (from 115 yen to 125 yen per euro).

The above is a look at the consolidated sales units, number of new titles, and sales unit forecast. It shows the updated forecast of Nintendo Switch and 3DS hardware and software sales forecast.

 

For the fiscal year ending March 2018, Nintendo expects to sell 16.7 million units of the Nintendo Switch console. That’s about 4 million more than the company’s previous forecast. As for software sales, Nintendo says it will sell 55.46 million Switch games by March 2018, a big increase from the previous forecast of 40.5 million game sales. Nintendo sold 2.92 consoles and 13.9 million games from July-September.

 

Nintendo reports 23.8 billion yen perating profit and 220 billion yen in revenue for the July-September quarter, with a net profit of 30.2 billion yen.
