Nintendo of Europe Names Koji Miyake Its New CEO And Stephan Bole Its New President

Nintendo of Europe has announced that Koji Miyake will take over as its new CEO and chairman, and Stephan Bole will become the new COO and president of the company. [Thanks,]

The now-former-Nintendo of Europe president Satoru Shibata, who maintained his position for 18 years, will return to Nintendo’s HQ in Kyoto where he’ll take the position of general manager of the Marketing Division and the Licensing Division.

As for Stephan Bole, he’ll be supported by Luciano Pereña as CFO and Laurent Fischer as CMO. Previously, Bole served as MD of Nintendo France from 2001 to 2005, and has had other roles such as senior managing director of corporate strategy (from 2009 to 2015) and senior managing director European subsidiaries and affiliates (from 2015 to 2018) for Nintendo of Europe.

Stephan Bole shared a quote about Satoru Shibata:

“To say that Mr Shibata’s contributions have been instrumental to Nintendo’s European operations is an understatements. His efforts over the past 18 years have helped to bring Nintendo products to generations of players across Europe – and beyond. While he will be missed by many, I have full confidence that with our new structure we’ll be able to continue our mission of putting smiles on people’s faces through our unique gaming experiences.”
