The last Nintendo Direct was held on May 7, 2015 to provide insight into Splatoon, the Nintendo Wii U shooter that lets players shift between squids and kids in a bid to ink territory. There wasn’t been a new one since in any region, and some wondered if the practice would continue after the passing of former Nintendo President Satoru Iwata. However, Nintendo has confirmed to IGN that it will continue to release such videos.
Nintendo didn’t provide any details about the future Nintendo Directs. It is uncertain who may act as a host and which games could be covered in such events.
Past Nintendo Directs can be remain archived online. The three most recent presentations discussed Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and general spring 2015 Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U releases.
