Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima To Retire This June, To Be Succeeded By Shuntaro Furukawa

Tatsumi Kimishima has been the president of Nintendo since the passing of former-president Satoru Iwata, and it was announced that he’ll be retiring this June.


According to the notice from Nintendo regarding changes of representative director and other management, it was announced during a meeting of the board of directors held today that President Kimishima will step down and retire from the office of Representative Director and President on June 28, 2018.


Replacing him will be Shuntaro Furukawa, who currently has titles under Director, Managing Executive Officer General Manager, Corporate Planning Department Supervisor of Corporate Analysis & Administration Division In charge of Global Marketing Department.
