Business Insider has learned from Kit Ellis, Nintendo’s senior public relations manager, that the Nintendo Switch won’t have a Netflix application available when the console launches. Due to its focus as a “dedicated gaming machine,” multimedia applications won’t be plentiful at launch.

Netflix was immediately available on the Nintendo Wii U back when it launched on November 18, 2012 in North America. However, it only came to the Nintendo 3DS on July 14, 2011, four months after its March 2011 launch.

The Nintendo Switch launches March 3, 2017.
