At the end of the Game Boy Advance’s life span Nintendo released the Bit Generations series. These simple and stylish games were never released outside of Japan, but it looks like they are being remade for WiiWare. This week Art Style: Orbient is a surprise game from Nintendo where you control a star that can absorb other stars by crashing into them. Watch out for black holes and other obstacles on your mission to absorb the galaxy. Art Style: Orbient contains 50 levels for 600 Wii Points ($6).
The game’s description and name shares a lot in common with the Bit Generations game, Oribital. While Nintendo never confirms this is an enhanced Bit Generations game it seems very likely it is. Orbital probably won’t be the only Bit Generations game to get released on WiiWare. Nintendo explains Art Style: Orbient is the first game in the Art Style series with two more Art Style games scheduled for release in October. I hope an enhanced version of Digidrive makes it to WiiWare.
Bomberman Blast is out today too for a cool 1,000 Wii Points ($10). Grab your Mii and place it into an eight player explosive party over Nintendo Wi-Fi with players from around the world. Sitting all alone in the Virtual Console corner is Super Turrican 2 from Factor 5. Shooting robots with a weapon that looks remarkably like Contra’s spread shot will set you back 800 Wii Points ($8).
