Nintendo’s San Diego Comic Con 2018 Plans Include A Gaming Lounge

Nintendo has revealed its plans for the San Diego Comic Con. Once again, it will be running Nintendo Gaming Lounge that will be open to everyone. It can be found at the Marriott Marquis and Marina that is next to the San Diego Convention Center, where SDCC 2018 is being held. It will be open July 19-22, 2018, though people with preview night badges will be able to enter on July 18, 2018.

 

The gaming lounge will have a number of Nintendo Switch titles, as well as two tournaments. One tournament is a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Arcadian Teen Tournament being held July 21, 2018 for 64 players ages 13-19. The other is a July 22, 2018 Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze top score tournament where the top eight players on the leaderboard by the time it ends at 4pm PT win prize packages. People who tweet @NintendoAmerica with the #BringMeSmash hashtag might also have a chance to get a golden ticket that lets them skip lines and play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The Poke Ball Plus controller will also be on display, there will be a Just Dance 2019 dance floor and photo opportunities will be available.

San Diego Comic Con 2018 will be held in San Diego, CA from July 19-22, 2018.
