We get a reason to return to Nioh 3 in the middle of August 2026 thanks to new Hell Rising DLC from Team Ninja. The first add-on for the game, which will involve a new adventure with Yagyu Jubei, new foes, and new kinds of equipment. It will be out on August 19, 2026, That will be available in the $39.99 Season Pass and is part of the $109.99 Digital Deluxe Edition, though we’ll likely see it sold separately after its launch.
In Nioh 3 Hell Rising, our characters work alongside Yagyu Jubei and Rodrigo in the entirely new Keian era. Once there, they will face an array of foes in the Crucible that include not only yokai, but humans. The hoko and shield will show up as a new type of weapon, and Picture Scrolls that can become Hundred Demon Realms Picture Scroll equipment after defeating a battle appear. The highest Enlightened One’s Journey difficulty also appears after getting this add-on. This is in addition to the expected new Guardian Spirits, Martial Arts, Ninjutsu, and Soul Cores.

We do know a little bit about the next add-on too. That will be called Bloody Insurrection. The estimated launch date for it is February 2027. However, considering the original launch window for Hell Rising was September 2026, according to things like Steam, it is possible we could see it a little earlier or even later.
Nioh 3 is available for the PS5 and PC, with the Hell Rising DLC debuting on August 19, 2026.
