While quite popular in Japan, the idol simulation genre spawned by The Idolm@ster hasn’t found it’s way West. The sole Idolm@ster game that was localized is a music game rather than a management one. That’s why we’re curious to see how well Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection does when NIS America releases it.
Gamindustri is being rocked by a boom of idols and since pop stars are popular the CPUs are losing shares. That’s why Neptune, Noire, Blanc, Leanbox and their younger sisters are taking the stage in Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection. Similar to the Idolm@ster games, Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection is an idol management sim. You send the CPUs out to publicity events or go through events to boos their stats. The goal is to get the idols ready for concerts where you can get more shares. But, you’re not in control of the CPUs. You’re a manager, so you help by picking a costume and working backstage.
The game is developed by Tamsoft, makers of the Onechanbara and D3 Publisher’s Dream C Club series. Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection is slated for release this year on PlayStation Vita.
