Back in September 2020, Granzella noted that R-Type Final 2 wouldn’t be appearing in 2020 as planned. Instead, it would be showing up in Spring 2021. Well, NIS America announced it will be handling publishing in the West and confirmed people will see it in Australia, Europe, and North America in Spring 2021 too. It also hinted at some special editions that are on the way.
The official R-Type Final 2 NIS America site showed exactly what’s in one version and hinted at the contents of another. The Inaugural Flight Edition will give people a copy of the game for one of the platforms it will be available on, The Artwork of R-Type Final 2 art book, and R-Type Final 2 Official Soundtrack on a CD. A price wasn’t announced for it. A Limited Edition was teased too, but there was no picture showing it off or details hinting about what it could contain. NIS America’s announcement did say the Limited Edition pre-orders would open on October 29, 2020 in its press release.
