For those who need a refresher, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Quest stars Diddy and Dixie Kong. They must go through 47 levels, fighting Kremlings and taking down Kaptain K. Rool so Donkey Kong can be set free. In this entry, Diddy Kong can use a cartwheel to move quickly and Dixie has a helicopter spin attack that lets her float.

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Link must save Princess Zelda and other maidens kidnapped by Agahnim, a wizard attempting to set Ganon free. Link will need to travel through the Hyrule we know, the Light World, as well as the Dark World, the former Sacred Realm where Ganon did get the Triforce, to save the day. This warping allows Link access to different locations throughout both worlds.

Finally, Super Metroid is the sequel to Metroid II: Return of Samus and sees Samus heading to the planet Zebes to get a Metroid back from Ridley and his space pirates. She’ll need to collect the Morph Ball, Spring Ball, Speed Booster, Space Jump, Grapple Beam, and X-ray Scope abilities to traverse Zebes and the space pirates’ base.

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Quest, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Super Metroid are all $7.99 each in North America.
