Nu Gundam Metal Structure Action Figure Will Get Alternate Parts

Bandai Spirits revealed a new set of alternate option parts for the Metal Structure action figure of Amuro Ray’s RX-93 Nu Gundam. It will release the new parts in Japan in January 2025. The set will also be available for purchase in the U.S. and the rest of Asia Pacific. [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]

One of the highlights of this package will be the new backpack set housing a pair of large beam sabers and multiple red Incoms. The latter are wire-guided remote weapons that let ordinary pilots shoot from multiple directions, as the more famous Funnels and Bits are only compatible with Newtype pilots who possess psychic abilities. The package will also include scaled human figures of characters closely related to the Mobile Suit, such as Amuro Ray and Chan Agi.

Here are some of the sample images of the new parts:

This set will cost 46,200 yen (~$308), but it will only contain the above bonus parts. The actual Nu Gundam Metal Structure has been available for purchase since 2019. Bandai Spirits re-released the action figure with its iconic Fin Funnels in March 2024 at a whopping 140,800 yen (~$938.60).

The Nu Gundam, which Amuro Ray piloted in the 1988 movie Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack, has been receiving more alternate armaments outside the show. Another example of this is the Long-Range Fin Funnel that appears on its life-sized statue in Fukuoka, as the original Fin Funnels would be unwieldy for the statue’s weight balance. Bandai Namco has since brought the armament to Gundam games like Battle Operation 2 and Gundam Breaker 4.

The new set of alternate option parts for the RX-93 Nu Gundam Metal Structure action figure will be available in January 2025.
