The new trailer didn’t show any gameplay. Instead, it was only a teaser of wolf goddess Amaterasu accompanied by the ink style of the original Okami title, with brushwork highlighting how the Celestial Paintbrush can change the world in the sequel just like in the original.

You can check out the announcement trailer for the long awaited Okami 2 here:

The original Okami was developed by Capcom’s Clover Studio and released on 2006 for the PlayStation 2. The game would later be ported for the Nintendo Wii, and would later get an HD port for the PS3. Most recently, the game came out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on December 2017 and Nintendo Switch on August 2018.

As a reminder, an Okami collaboration appeared in Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess back in August 2024 that included Amaterasu in the new Capcom title.

The new Okami title is currently in development by Capcom’s Clovers Studio. There is no release date for the game and target platforms have been revealed yet.
