One Year After Bizarre Creations Closed, Two Games Were Made

After Blur failed to find an audience, Activision began looking at ways to offload Project Gotham Racing creator Bizarre Creations including a sale to another company. When no buyer could be found, Activision closed the studio in early 2011.

Former employees quickly formed their own companies like Grubby Hands which created an iPhone game called Boy Loves Girl. The mobile title follows Boy who goes on a quest to find the perfect gift to express his love.

Totem Games created a versus style shoot ’em up called Space Off for iOS devices.

 

 

Lucid Games was the first startup to form out of the Bizarre Creations closure. While they have not announced any specific games, Lucid Games expanded from a team of 8 to 28 and they’re still looking for a Flash game developer. The Liverpool based developer celebrated their first anniversary last week.
