A new mode has been revealed for Ori and the Will of the Wisps at gamescom 2018. There will be segments called Spirit Trials. When you find a Spirit Trial space, players will be able to take part in an asynchronous multiplayer race.
When players find one of these Spirit Trials opportunities in Ori and the Will of the Wisps, the game will give them an option to run through a set space. You will then compete against the ghost data of other players. As shown in a video, there is a leaderboard and apparently even a spectate option.
Also, at the end of this gamescom 2018 video, the player is shown earning a personal best. They are given a code, which they are told to save in case they need to validate their score to earn a prize.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is in development for the Xbox One and PC, and it is expected to release in 2019. As a reminder, Another Metroid 2 Remakeās Milton āDoctorM64ā Guasti is working on the game.
