Otomate Party 2020 Canceled in Favor of Special Games Showcase

Idea Factory’s annual Otomate Party event, which focuses on upcoming otome games, was originally set to be held over the past weekend of May 23-24, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was canceled back in April. However, Idea Factory announced via Twitter that it will be releasing a special announcement video in July 2020 that will essentially replace the event for this year.

The video will bring updates on already-announced titles, as well as completely new announcements for fans of otome titles to look forward to. Not much has been said regarding how long the video will be, but more information on the games showcase will likely be announced closer to July.

The Otomate Party event has been going on for many years now. In 2019, several new titles were announced. Games like Alice in the Country of Spades ~Wonderful White World~ & ~Wonderful Black World~, Time Device Apocalypse, Piofiore no Banshou –Episidio 1926-, and Meiji Kageki Haikara Ryuuseigumi – Seibaishimaseu, Yonaoshi Kagyou – were all announced last year, but there has been radio silence since, so they are all likely to appear in the Otomate Party 2020 video. You can watch their announcement trailers in our previous article here.

Otomate Party 2020’s announcement video will be released online in July 2020.
