First, Atlus offered a more direct comparison of how much things have changed between the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 4 releases. It sent out two screenshots that looked at the exact same moment in each game.

As for characters, each one had a new piece of official art shared alongside a few SMT III: Nocturne HD Remaster screenshots looking at them in this updated version of the game. First, here’s the Demi-Fiend avatar. He’s voiced by Junya Enoki in the Japanese version of the game.

This is Isamu Nitta, one of the player’s classmates. (He eventually also ends up playing a major role in the game.) He’s voiced by Takuya Eguchi in the remaster.

Chiaki Hayasaka is another classmate and, like Isamu, ends up playing a major role in the game. She’s voiced by Reina Ueda this time around.

Here’s Cybers Chief Technical Director Hikawa. Oh, and he’s also one of the people in charge at the Cult of Gaea. Daisuke Ono will voice him in the HD remaster.

Speaking of authority figures, here’s a better look at homeroom teacher Yuko Takao. She’s in charge of the player character, Isamu, and Chiaki’s class.

Jyoji Hijiri, voiced by Takeshi Maeda, writes for Ayakashi Monthly and is investigating what’s going on.

There was also one image of the Lady in Black and Blond Child who appear in the Vortex World. Mariya Ise will provide the voice acting for the child, while Tamie Kubota will voice the woman.

Even Raidou Kuzunoha the XIV and Gouto-Douji, from the Devil Summoner games, appeared in some new SMT III Nocturne HD Remaster screenshots. Tomokazu Sugita will voice Raidou, while Joji Nakata will voice Gouto-Douji.

Finally, here are the additional screenshots Atlus shared that looked at how characters, monsters, and environments will appear. One even looks at the menu option for the new Merciful difficulty level, which will be released as free DLC and allow people to focus on enjoying the JRPG’s story.

Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne will come to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan on October 29, 2020. It will appear in other regions in Spring 2021.
