Blizzard has released a new short story starring the angelic supporter, Mercy. In this new Overwatch tale, we see a more conflicted side of the heroine. It’s a look into the mind of someone who has stepped away from the fight and is perhaps considering returning in Overwatch 2. In addition, there’s a hint of things to come.
“Overwatch Valkyrie,” which is free to download and read, comes in at 24 pages long and talks about her experiences working as Dr. Angela Ziegler in different countries. After being stationed in Egypt, she finds herself wondering what to do next. A visit from two old friends gets her thinking about her past and future.
However, the most interesting part of this is a possible new Overwatch Mercy skin. A Dr. Ziegler Mercy skin designed by Arnold Tsang, with a model by Hong-Chan Lim, appear at the end. Blizzard has not noted if or when this will appear in the game.
Overwatch is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Overwatch 2 is in development.
