Overwatch Nintendo Switch Retail Copies Only Include A Download Code

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

While there will be copies of the Overwatch Nintendo Switch version available both in the eShop and at retail stores, the boxes won’t include actual physical copies for people. Each one has a banner across the top that says it includes a “full game download.” No game cartridge is included.   Instead, the Overwatch Legendary Edition on Nintendo Switch will come with a code. People can use it in the eShop to download the 12.1GB game. The box is for display purposes only.   The Overwatch Nintendo Switch copies also all come with three months of a Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership. People will need to turn off auto-renew, if they don’t want it to automatically renew at the end of the period. If they already have an Individual Membership, three months will be added onto their existing subscription.   Overwatch will make its Nintendo Switch debut on October 15, 2019, and people will get a Golden Loot Box with at least one Legendary-level item if they log into it by December 31, 2019. Overwatch is immediately available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
