During BlizzCon which took place over the weekend in Anaheim, California, Blizzard revealed a slew of new changes coming soon to their first-person shooter, Overwatch. [Thanks, Polygon.]
In addition to the announcement that the hacker Sombra would be joining the roster of playable characters, a new mode called Arcade Mode was revealed. In Arcade Mode, players will have a collection of various game types to choose from, including Mystery Duel, Elimination, and No Limits. In the Mystery Duel, players will fight one-on-one with a randomly selected hero in a best-of-nine-rounds challenge.
Elimination is a 3v3 mode in which two teams of three fight in a best-of-five-rounds and team composition is locked for a full round after players make their choice. In No Limits, there are no rules for team composition, so players are choose to pick whichever hero they like, and can even fill a team with 6 of one hero. No Limits will effectively be taking the original rules from Quickplay, since Blizzard will be making major modifications to Quickplay which will prevent duplicate heroes, much like in Competitive Mode.
Overwatch is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
