Pack-in Intellivision Amico Games Lineup Will Include Astrosmash

The launch Intellivision Amico games have been revealed. When people buy the system, they will also have six immediately available games packed in with it. Five of these have been revealed, and three of those are updates remakes of classic titles like Astrosmash and Shark! Shark!. The sixth title remains a secret.

Some of the games are familiar and rely upon the same elements as original Intellivision games. Astrosmash still involves shooting down asteroids and space debris before it hits the Earth, though this version will have competitive and cooperative multiplayer. Shark! Shark! still involves a fish trying to grow larger while avoiding/defeating a shark, with co-op and competitive play returning. Skiing still has people skiing down a mountain, however this version also includes four-player Ski Cross and eight-player competitive racing.

The two “new to Intellivision” games are adaptations of board and lawn games. Cornhole will have people tossing beanbags at wooden targets around the “world,” while Farkle will bring the dice game to the device.

Here’s the Intellivision Amico games trailer looking at five of the six pack-in titles.

The Intellivision Amico will launch on October 10, 2020.
