Okami may have underperformed on the PlayStation 2, but if the Nintendo Wii port handled by Ready at Dawn is it hit Capcom will certainly consider it. Over at the Capcom Forums, Christian Svensson, Vice President of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Capcom, said “we have reasonable but modest expectations for the title. I'll be very disappointed if we can't hit those. If it [Okami Wii] happens to 'destroy' said expectations, I'd definitely think hard about new content (though admittedly, that's even quite difficult without Kimea's and Inaba's brilliant input on the project).” Before any rumors circulate take note a sequel, second game, or third port is “not currently on any product roadmap we have, but clearly overperformance of this version could trigger an addition that we hadn't planned well in advance. Beyond that, there's nothing really to talk about on this front.”

Short story, buy Okami Wii and tell your friends to do so and there might be hope for a follow up. Not convinced brush stroke mechanics are enough to buy the game again? Svenesson teases, “the game is even more beautiful than it was on the PS2 *blue smiley face wearing shades*” To date, Capcom has yet to announce Okami Wii for Japan, which means it will be coming to the USA first as long as it meets its Spring 2008 release window.
