Paper Mario: The Origami King details Mario’s adventure to reclaim Peach’s Castle and a mind-controlled Princess Peach, who has been turned into an origami by King Olly. Mario is aided by King Olly’s sister, Olivia, and will be able to use new abilities like the 1000-Fold Arms in order to manipulate the environment to progress onwards.

As part of this adventure, Mario will travel to various areas around the Mushroom Kingdom and its surrounding areas, including a sea palace and an Arabian-inspired city. As Peach’s Castle has been wrapped up and taken away with paper tape, Mario needs to retrieve all of the paper tape in order to reach King Olly and Princess Peach.

Finally, a video from the Japanese site shows off how you’ll meet partner characters along the way in each area, such as this Bob-omb here. It should be noted that it seems partner characters will join battles, as shown by a previous deleted Chinese version trailer.

Paper Mario: The Origami King will come to the Nintendo Switch on July 17, 2020.
