While Persona 4: Arena is a fighting game, it isn’t going to slack in the story department. Arc System Works made a single player story mode one of the main highlights in BlazBlue and it sounds like Persona 4: Arena is going to be the same way.

On the official Persona blog, Kazuhisa Wada, director of Persona 4: Arena, says the story mode will be between 30 and 40 hours long. My Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 save file has over 60 hours on it so Persona 4: Arena has a pretty sizable story component. Each character in Persona 4: Arena has their own story to follow like Kanji who is tracking down a mysterious man with a red cape and Teddie who is protecting Labrys. Persona 4: Arena will have full voice acting for its story mode and for North America you can switch between Japanese or English voiceovers.

Persona 4: Arena, Wada explains, has a bunch of different gameplay modes including lesson and training mode. For beginners, Persona 4: Arena has a barrage combo, where you can hit one button to do a preset combo.

Persona 4: Arena comes out in Japan and North America in August. Heads up a staff member on the Atlus forums says Persona 4: Arena is region locked to the Americas for both PS3 and Xbox 360. If you’re in Europe, don’t worry Zen United have the game slated for release later in 2011.
