Companies like Square Enix and to a lesser extent Atlus re-release games with expanded content. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3: FES came out half a year after Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3. So is the same thing going to happen with Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4?
Atlus says no way. In what might be a first for any publisher, Atlus sent us an anti-announcement stating there will be one and only one version of Persona 4 which is scheduled to come out on December 9. It is strange to hear a publisher close their doors to a follow up before a game even launches, but Atlus also wants to assuage fears that a deeper version won’t be coming out in the future. If you want the “best” version of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 pre-order it at Gamestop or Amazon to bonus the 100 page art book.
