The Pokemon Company revealed new figures that show Pokemon who ignore their trainer’s orders. It will release these figures via capsule toy vending machines on December 19, 2024.

These figures will take inspiration from the Obedience system in the mainline Pokemon games. Pokemon who were traded from other trainers will occasionally ignore the player’s orders if their levels are higher than the player’s limit, which only gradually increases by acquiring gym badges. This feature still exists in the eighth-generation entries Pokemon Sword and Shield, as well as the ninth-generation Pokemon Scarlet and Violet—all of which are readily available on Nintendo Switch.

People will have to spend 500 yen on the corresponding capsule toy vending machine to be able to pull from it. As such, the figure that they can obtain with each purchase will be completely random.

This figure lineup will feature the following five Pokemon who debuted in the franchise’s first two game generations—Red, Blue, and Yellow, as well as Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Each figure will also come with the following Japanese quotes:

  1. “Charizard won’t obey!”
  2. “Mewtwo pretended not to notice!”
  3. “Umbreon turned away!”
  4. “Larvitar ignored orders!”
  5. “Starmie is loafing around!”
