It is May the Fourth, the day during which marketing for any and all things Star Wars ramps up. However, it’s also a day for crossover art from different sorts of sources, and Game Freak’s James Turner is one of them. The artist who has worked as a Pokemon designer on games like Pokemon Sun, Moon X, and Y, a Pokemon Sword and Shield art director, and as a director on games like HarmoKnight and Tembo the Badass Elephant, shared a piece of Pikachu Star Wars art.

Here’s Turner’s Darth Pika, his Pikachu Star Wars contribution.

This is far from Turner’s piece of Pikachu fanart, but of game fanart in general. Back on Pokemon Day 2020, he celebrated with Pikachu receiving a Ditto cake.

He also created a Homer Simpson “Dohglett.”

Also, if his work is anything to go by, he’s quite a fan of Kirby too.

Turner also occasionally turns his fanart into things like wallpapers for people to use. His “Small Mario Habitat” is available as one for smartphones.

As for actual Pokemon art, Turner is known for creating the Golett, Phantump, and Vanillite lines.
