Panic announced Playdate Season 3 and confirmed it will be the smallest selection of games yet. Only eight total titles will appear, but it will still cost $39. That will launch on October 8, 2026, and people will get access to two games on that day if they buy it and two more each week for a four-week period.
Many of the season 3 Playdate games were revealed during the tenth update, and product pages for some are already live. Here’s the list of those titles, when known, their genres:
- Bonkhop
- Chance’s Lucky Escape 2 – point-and-click adventure
- Gloom Gate – action-RPG
- Hellevator – action roguelike
- Houm – point-and-click adventure
- Soggy Froggy – action
- Sound Mind – two-player hide-and-seek
- Word Trip 2: Cross Words – puzzle

This will be the smallest Playdate season so far. Season 1, which someone gets alongside a purchase of the handheld, consists of 24 games. Two unlock per week, for a total of 12 weeks. The second season consisted of 12 titles released two per week over six weeks, with Blippo+ included as a bonus thirteenth game. That cost $39, just like this third batch.
Playdate Season 3 will launch on October 8, 2026, with all games being available weekly by October 29, 2026 if you buy it at launch.
