PlayStation 4 Is Getting A Virtual Japanese Arcade

Hamster in collaboration with Nippon Ichi Software is starting their own virtual console with Japanese arcade games. Six different companies including Tecmo are adding titles to Arcade Archives. These emulated PlayStation 4 games support the share function so you can live stream classic Double Dragon.

Crazy Climber, Ninja Kid, and Rygar are scheduled for release in spring 2014. Each game will cost 823 yen plus tax. Hamster aims to release between two to five Arcade Archives titles each month in Japan.

A number of these games were bundled together in the My Game Center Family compilation for PlayStation 2, which Hamster released in Japan. That collection included classics from Konami like Castlevania, Contra, and Thunder Cross. No word if these games will make it to the West, but MonkeyPaw worked with Hamster to release Hyper Crazy Climber as a PsOne import.
