Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the PlayStation Classic as the latest plug and play miniature console featuring 20 games including Final Fantasy VII, Tekken 3, Wild Arms, and on December 3.
The PlayStation Classic’s release will coincide with the anniversary of the original PlayStation which made its debut in Japan on December 3, 1994. The design of the PlayStation Classic resembles the original PlayStation, including its button layout as well as controllers and outer package. Its size is about 45% smaller on the sides and 80% smaller in volume than the original title.
The PlayStation Classic comes pre-loaded with 20 PlayStation games such as Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash!! R4 Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, Wild Arms, and more. Keep in mind that there may be different titles in different regions, but on on that will be announced later. Users will get to play with or against friends with the two controllers included with the console for select supported titles.
It connects to external displays such as TV monitors with an included HDMI cable, and it connects with a USB cable for power.
The PlayStation Classic launches in North America, Europe, and Japan on December 3, 2018 for $99, €99, and 9,980 yen.
