Monster Radar was one of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan’s PlayStation Vita launch titles. It’s an augmented reality game where you catch invisible monsters that you can only see with your Vita. After you catch a monster like a living hamburger… you imprison it in a lab and that’s about it. Monster Radar doubles as a map app with Peta Maps built in it.

While it wasn’t a full price Vita game, Monster Radar was 2,780 ($35) yen at launch. Now, it’s like 900 yen ($11). On November 21, Monster Radar Plus will be released for free on Japan’s PlayStation Store. Sony plans on monetizing Monster Radar Plus through monthly missions, some will be free and others will be paid DLC.
