Pokemon Horizons 10-Minute Preview Shown at SDCC

The Pokemon Company showed off the English dub of Pokemon Horizons: The Series in a ten-minute preview of the anime. The opening scenes of the new series were revealed at the 2023 San Diego Comic Con along with an official trailer.

The Pokemon Horizons preview features the protagonist Liko arriving at the Indigo Academy in Kanto to start studying Pokemon. It shows that Liko is a quieter and less assured character than Ash was, as she struggles to open up to new people at the school. The preview also shows her getting her first Pokemon, Sprigatito, who is initially disobedient and rebellious.

Here’s the first look at the English dub of the new Pokemon anime.

Pokemon Horizons: The Series is a soft reboot of the Pokemon anime after the conclusion of Ash Ketchum’s storyline in Pokemon Ultimate Journeys. The North American conclusion to Pokemon: Ultimate Journeys is set to air through Netflix on September 8, 2023. There is currently no Western release date for Pokemon Horizons, but the show is currently airing in Japan.

In other Pokemon news, the mobile game and sleep monitoring app Pokemon Sleep has been rolling out worldwide in the past week. This new app monitors how well its players are sleeping and will compare their sleep styles to Pokemon. Players can also help raise a Snorlax through their sleep activity.
