To commemorate the release of Pokemon Legends Z-A on October 16, 2025, the Pokemon Center in Japan will release a lot of original merchandise, as well as hold some celebratory events in the physical stores. Pikachu mascots dressed up like the protagonists of Z-A will also appear in Pokemon Centers throughout October and November 2025. Some gachapon machines will also feature merchandise from the game.
Pokemon Legends Z-A merchandise at the Pokemon Centers include keychains, snacks, and mugs depicting Lumiose City, the starters, and Mega-Evolutions. Like real tourist shops, you can also purchase a fake map of Lumiose City, along with magnets depicting key locations with Pokemon posing around them. The stores will also offer apparel and accessories that resemble what the protagonists use, so you can dress up like them in real life. Dolls of the starters—Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile—and Eternal Flower Floette will also appear in the stores.
Though the Pokemon Center has an online store you can order from, the stores encourage people to drop by the physical locations. If you buy the game, or go pick up your pre-order, from the Pokemon Center, you can get what looks like an exclusive keychain. As well, the promotion material implies that the Charizard at the entrance of the Tokyo and Osaka locations will Mega-Evolve. Standees of characters and Pokemon will also appear in the stores, which will make customers feel like they’re wandering around Lumiose City.
For those who don’t want to squeeze through the crowds but want to get their hands on Pokemon Legends Z-A merchandise, Bandai Namco will offer acrylic swings of Mega-Evolutions in its Gashapon machines. It’ll cost 300 JPY ($2) per attempt. There are seven variations to collect, including both new and old Mega-Evolutions.
Pokemon Legends Z-A will come out on October 16, 2025 for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
