Nintendo announced a new Vivillon Challenge in Pokemon Legends: Z-A that is tied to a Spewpa Mystery Gift distribution event. That Pokemon is being given away until November 18, 2026. If people evolve Spewpas into Vivillon in-game and accumulate 660,000 points worldwide, as shown on the event site, everyone will get a Poke Ball Pattern Vivillion.

Here’s how the promotion works. The Mystery Gift Spewpa we get is picked up by selecting Link Play, then choose Mystery Gift and to “Get via Internet.” You don’t need the Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC or Nintendo Switch Online to get the Spewpa. That Spewpa will then evolve into one of the 16 Vivillon patterns shown below at level 12.

As for the Pokemon Legends: Z-A Vivillon Challenge for the Poke Ball Pattern reward, there’s no end-date so we don’t need to worry about meeting a certain cut-off. However, it will likely be met quite soon. As of 11:30am ET on October 29, 2026, over 357,000 points had been earned. Once 660,000 are hit, Nintendo and Game Freak will announce the Poke Ball Pattern distribution event. Both the Mystery Gift Spewpa and ones caught in-game count for that point total.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is available on the Switch and Switch 2.
