At the very end of the 2026 Pokemon Presents presentation, Nintendo and Game Freak revealed the gen 10 Pokemon Winds and Waves Switch 2 game and its new starters. The three will be fire, grass, and water types again, and they’re named Pombon, Browt, and Gecqua. The whole game also features something of a tropical island theme. It will launch simultaneously worldwide in 2027, and a Brazilian Portuguese localization is confirmed.

There are no solid details about any of the three Pokemon Winds and Waves starters yet, beyond details about their type. Pombon is a fire-type that looks like an orange Pomeranian puppy. Browt is a green bird, and it is the grass-type. Gecqua strongly resembles a blue gecko.

Here’s the full trailer for Pokemon Winds and Waves. It started by looking at a sketchbook that showed hand-drawn images of moments from different entries in past generations of Pokemon games, with a Pikachu as the focus. After hearing a knock at the door, the new trainer opens it to see two Pikachu in festive beachwear. From there, the trailer transitions to actual gameplay footage showing the new region and areas. We get to see exploration elements and a trainer catching a Pikachu in the location. Only existing characters from past installments are shown, and the only new Pokemon revealed are the starters Pombon, Browt, and Gecqua.

There’s also official art of the two new Pikachu:
