This morning, it has been reported that former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi, who helped the company rise during his 53 years of tenure, had passed away at the age of 85. Pokémon director Junichi Masuda shared his thoughts and condolences on Twitter.
任天堂山内前社長の訃報、いま知りました。ファミコンを作りゲーム業界を作り日本を世界に通用するゲーム産業にしてくださいました。そして、ポケモンも愛してくださいました。山内さん、本日XY100万本予約を突破しましたよ。。ご冥福を心よりお祈り申し上げます。

“I just found out about the news regarding the death of former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi.
