We’ve seen various franchises such as Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, and Dragon Quest get “Real Escape” games, and next on the list is Pokémon, where you’ll pick a starter and escape from Ho-Oh’s trial.

This Real Escape game is being made to commemorate the premiere of Pokémon the Movie 20: I Choose You! on July 15 in Japan. “Escape from Ho-Oh’s Trial’ will be available in eight different cities in Japan.

Similar to other Real Escape games, it’s a real-life experience game, where you’ll start out as a new trainer. Your first task is to pick your starter partner Pokémon out of Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur. Unlike other Real Escape games, this one won’t have a time limit, so you’ll get to take your time and enjoy the attraction. It’s split into two difficulties of “Professor Course” for adults and “Trainer Course” for kids.

The attraction even has a little story, where you’ll aim to become a true Pokémon Master by taking on a trial on a sacred pedestal found on a mountaintop in order to call the legendary Pokémon, Ho-Oh.

Tickets will be available for purchase via Scrap Tantei-dan in Japan starting June 10 through June 16 in Japan, and available via general release on June 17. Early tickets will cost 2,000 yen for high school students and above or 1,250 yen for elementary and middle school students. General ticket prices will go for 3,000 yen, student prices at 2,500 yen, and 1,750 yen for children. You can find more info over at the official website.
