Pompompurin Won 2025 Sanrio Character Ranking Popularity Poll

Back in April 2025, Sanrio opened the 2025 Character Ranking popularity poll and Pompompurin seized an early lead and won. The company revealed Cinnamoroll took second place, and Pochacco rounded out the top three by taking third. 63,160,696 votes total were cast, and 5,613,659 went to Pompompurin.

The 2025 edition of the contest isn’t the first time Pompompurin won the Sanrio Character Ranking popularity poll, but it is the first time it’s happened in a while. Pompompurin’s last win happened in 2016. This time, Pompompurin broke a five-year winning winning streak for Cinnamoroll, who’d taken first place since 2020. The first time this character won was in 1997, the year after he was introduced.

Pompompurin won this year’s Sanrio Character Ranking popularity poll, and he took first place overall and in region-specific Australia, Chinese Mainland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Taiwan, UK, and US polls.
