Amazon Japan’s product page and an update from Nintendo Europe have revealed a feature that will be new to the Nintendo 3DS version of Yoshi’s Woolly World. In Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World, players will be able to design their own Yarn Yoshis.
The screenshots offer a look at how this Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World creator will look. People will have a palette of seven colors to work with. The face, arms, body, and feet will all be recognized as separate parts that can be drawn on using the Nintendo 3DS touchscreen. A subsequent screenshot even shows one of the custom Yarn Yoshis going through a level. Nintendo has not said if people’s Yarn Yoshi designs will be able to be shared.
Both Japan and Europe have confirmed Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World’s Poochy amiibo feature and game and amiibo bundles. Scanning Poochy into the game will immediately summon the dog to assist Yoshi. Europe will be getting a bundle that includes the Poochy amiibo, and Amazon Japan is showing a Japanese bundle that includes pink Yarn Yoshi and Poochy amiibo. GameStop has a product listing for a North American bundle with a screenshot that shows a picture of the Poochy amiibo and $49.99 price.
Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World will come to the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on January 17, 2017. It will come to North America and Europe on February 3, 2017.
