Solo game developer Ivan Zanotti has released his meta-horror game IMSCARED on Steam.

It’s a bigger, commercial version of his 2012 freeware horror game Imscared – A Pixelated Nightmare. You can still download that older version of the game on Game Jolt.

This commercial version has new content (some are saying about an hour in length has been added) while keeping the original idea intact.

To tell you exactly what that original idea is would be to spoil the game’s greatest trick. However, it’s important that you read the “Known bugs and fixes” section on the Steam page to make sure the game can do what it does so brilliantly.

Otherwise, what you should know is that this is a surreal first-person horror game. The description adds: “Find keys, open doors and search for the exit to this nightmare. But I need to let you know, it will try to deceive You as many times as it can.”
