Post-Launch God Eater 3 Updates Will Make Keith A Party Member, Add Costumes, And Bring Post-Game Missions

On February 4, 2019, Bandai Namco held a God Eater live stream looking at the future of the series, and it kicked things off by almost immediately looking at the God Eater 3 updates people can expect to see in Spring and Summer 2019. While the initial 1.20 Spring 2019 update will bring additions like a Class Certification Mission type, the ability to change the avatar’s skin color, and new costumes, eventually people will see new party members and story-based missions that take place after the game’s ending.

The Spring 2019 1.20 update’s main addition is the Class Certification Mission. These are new sorts of ranked missions that gradually get more difficult and could eventually lead to players earning new accessories as rewards. A new variation of the Ra Ashborn Aragami, known as Amen-Ra, will appear as an enemy during this kind of mission. A number of cosmetic changes will come in this update, including new hairstyles for players’ avatars, skin colors for avatars, and costumes for NPCs. A number of balancing adjustments for Aragami and God Eater’s attacks will also be implemented.

The Spring 2019 1.30 God Eater 3 update will bring in additional characters and post-game missions. During the live stream, the panel introducing the post-game story-based missions shows a screenshot of Soma, from God Eater and God Eater 2, going by the name Ein. (This appears at the 42 minute mark.) After confirming additional content that might act as an epilogue, Bandai Namco confirmed that Zeke’s younger brothers, Keith and Neil, will be added as possible party members in this patch.

The God Eater 3 update announcements ended with a tease of things to come. The last one discussed was 1.40, which will appear in Summer 2019. While the presentation did note that other things could arrive, the only kind of content announced for this update was a kind of Time Attack Mission, which would task people with completing specific missions as quickly as possible.

You can see the planned God Eater 3 updates in the video below starting at about the 18 minute mark.

God Eater 3 will appear on the PlayStation 4 and PC in North America and Europe on February 8, 2019. It is immediately available in Japan.
