Square Enix has a plan for cloud gaming services, but aren’t going to stream games like Gaikai or OnLive. Project Flare leverages cloud processing power to handle game calculations. One tech demo using Deus Ex: Human Revolution as a base shows how Project Flare can be used for physics processing when a screen is filled with different objects.

That’s a neat idea, but this is just a tech demo for now. Square Enix is looking to partner with other companies and turn this technology into a service. Ubisoft is one of the Project Flare partners and the two developers are collaborating on Project Flare.
